With the new Navigation Mode in COTREX, you will be ready to hit the trail with helpful tools and functions right at your finger tips. One exciting feature that is great to use in Navigation Mode is Route Guidance. When you select a Custom Route or a Featured Route, the route's path will lock to your map screen for easier trail navigation. Follow these steps to try out this feature:
1) Plan your trip
While connected to the internet and using the COTREX app on your mobile device, hit the "download" button on the Featured Route or Custom Route of your choosing to make sure that you have the route and map ready for when you arrive to the trailhead.
Remember, you can follow our other instruction page if you want to create your own custom route. Note: There is no need to explicitly save your own Custom Routes for Offline use, as this happens automatically.
2) Head out to the trailhead
In order to lock your chosen Featured or Custom Route, you will need to physically be at the start of the route. The list of routes that you can choose from for Route Guidance are based on the closest proximity to your current location.
3) Enter Navigation Mode and click the Route Guidance Button
When you're ready to hit the trail, go to the Navigation mode screen (the middle button that's a vertical arrow on the bottom of the app screen). You should see the search bar on top and the bottom green slider bar disappear when you've entered this mode. Next, hit the Route Guidance button on the right hand side of your screen (see image below). Now, you should be able to see and select the Featured or Custom Route that you've downloaded. Congratulations, you're now using the Route Guidance Mode! To exit this mode, click on the Route Guidance button again (which should be colored green), and you'll be able to stop Route Guidance.
